I put the Ramco mirrors on our coach last summer and like them a lot. When
I installed ours, the drilled holes in the mounting plate (driver's side)
did not match the threads on the coach body. A little work with a dremel on
the aluminum and the mirror fit OK. The curve on my mirrors doesn't match
the coach body very well - there is a small gap between the body and
mounting plate on both sides. This spring I'll make up some rubber gaskets
to seal the mirror-body surface. Despite the minor flaws I recommend the
mirrors for those who will have drivers of different heights piloting the
coach.

JR:
Are you aware that Ramco modifies the mounting bracket for the studs used on
the 78's?? They fill weld the wells at each corner on the bracket backside
mounting surface, grind them flat and counter bore each stud hole on the
front side of the bracket. You'll then be able to use the original acorn
nuts. I believe they have a standard charge for that.

GMC netters,
I ordered a set of Ramco MH powered mirrors for my lady last summer; got
their
2102HR-GMC, which is heated remote flat glass, manual convex glass with
optional turnsignals; paid $373.81 after FMCA 10% discount and shipping.
I
bought another lady two weeks ago and now want these same MH mirrors for
her.
I called Ramco this week and said I was Jerry Wheeler and I needed an
update
on the price list for this style mirror; Krista, the sales rep, quoted
me
$302.50, not including shipping, thinking I was Jerry Wheeler RV sales
in Las
Vegas. I told her no, I was Jerry Wheeler in NC. She said I could have
the
wholesale price since she quoted me that. To those of you that have the
Caspro catalog, I believe these are the same mirrors that he sells for
$477.20. I told Krista about the GMCnetters and asked if she would let
them
order wholesale also. She said no, but I could represent the GMCnetters
as a
wholesale agent for a month if I wanted to. She said I would have to
gather
the orders; send in a list of those wanting this set of powered mirrors,
make
one payment for the lot; and she would ship to individuals off the list
I sent
in.
So, what should I do? I can offer them to you for about $312.50; you
can
order direct for about $373; or order through Caspro for $477.20. Let
me know
if anyone out there is interested. Since I would have to make one
payment
up front and they will ship directly to you, I will have to have money
up
front, as I may have a hard time collecting all over the USA and Canada
after
the mirrors are shipped direct. You'll have to trust me that I will in
turn
send your name in and have the mirrors shipped to you. Email me direct
if
anyone has any concerns. I'll also listen to what the net has to say
about
this. Perhaps you all can come up with a different plan. My mirrors
are
already being shipped.
A word of caution; 78 coaches with mirrors that are mounted on the body
with
studs sticking out, you will have to find a nut that will work. I
working on
that right now, because my new coach has those studs; I'm confident I
will be
able to work something out. If all else fails, I have access to a
machine
shop and will make my own.

Walt I just added the Ramco mirrors to my 78 Royale. I had bolts that
were welded to the coach body and were approx. 1 1/2 inches long. We
were able to countersink the
mirror bases and the were able to to get the nut on. You need to
countersink the base
large enough to get a socket around the nut. We then used a plastic cap
siliconed in place to dress it up. The body shop I used did most to the
work. As an aside the spent
624 hours preparing and painting the unit and it looks GREAT!
