The Brentwood Run

IT’S BACK! The popular BRENTWOOD RUN is again happening on San Vicente Blvd. in LA’s Brentwood neighborhood. A great flat and fast course, huge expo, fun kids area, and dog parade. (www.brentwoodrun.com)

All the fun starts at 7:30 with the 10K, then at 8:30 the 5K Run and Walk. The kids 1K fun run at 9:00 and the DOG PARADE at 9:30. Bring the whole family for a fun morning in support of our charities.

Event details and schedule

Pick up your shirt and bib on Saturday, 6/8/19 at FrontRunners La at 11620 San Vicente Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90049 from noon to 5 pm, or on race morning at FrontRunners from 6:00 AM to the start of your run.

Parking is on city streets or you can UBER OR LYFT  to the corner of  San Vicente Blvd and Bringham Ave. in our scooter or on Bird or Lime . San Vicente Blvd. will be closed to traffic at 6:30 am.

The focus of funds raised will be given to local charities that do a remarkable job in a variety of causes:
The Lange Foundation was founded in 1993 as a no-kill shelter committed to rescuing stray and
abandoned animals and facilitating adoptions. Animals that are not adopted may remain at the kennel
indefinitely without consequence. Funds from the Animal Show will be earmarked for this worthy
Foundation which is located in our area.
New Directions for Veterans located at the VA has offered homeless Veterans a program to right their
lives to transition in to the community as constructive citizens with supportive services and jobs. Their
program continues to grow and assist Veterans to recover from drugs and alcohol. A program was
launched called Operation Welcome Home, helping veterans of the Iraqi War to transition back to civilian
Village for Vets is a nonprofit 501(c)3 started by Brentwood resident Marcie Swartz as a way to offer
Veteran Centric job opportunities at the VA Parking lot. This community organization is dedicated as a
support group to the VA. They presently provide food for the Welcome Center, volunteers for the annual
Stand Down for Vets which provides services such as haircuts, legal help, clothing, meals, etc. each year,
and special Veteran events such as Super Bowl parties. Village for Vets is presently working to provide an
awesome program for disabled Vets called Operation Freedom Paws. This nonprofit empowers Veterans
with disabilities to live a quality life by teaching them to train their own dog and certifying them as service dog teams.
The Coral Tree Foundation is a nonprofit designated to raise funds to care for the trees on the median
from 26th St. to Brigham. They need annual trimming which is not provided by the City of LA. They are
often replaced and overseen by a professional arborist as they are a Cultural Monument #148.
